\nLast September despite some problems\u00a0 with my computer I received at our E Mail info@padrekino.org<\/span> a message from Mrs. Alexandra Carsten of the German office of the National Geographic Magazine, (National Geographic Deutschland).<\/strong>
\nWe were asked to supply a portrait of Padre Kino suitable to be included in a book concerning the 100 most important explorers of the past millennium.<\/strong>
\n\u00a0<\/strong>I am now stunned and glad to announce that the book is ready to tell to the German readers the adventures of Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino.<\/strong>
\nI would like to express my deepest thank you to Miss Carsten and to the NGD, to the German Jesuits,\u00a0 who have supplied a high definition portrait in addition to Father Polzer and the Jesuits fathers of Arizona who allowed the use of the image.<\/strong>
\nNGD via Mrs. Carsten has presented a copy of the beautiful volume to the Museum of Segno. The volume can also be requested via NGD visiting their web site\u00a0 www.nationalgeographic.de<\/span>. For the Association members the price is \u20ac 29,4.\u00a0<\/strong>

\nThere are two O’Brien portraits of Kino. \u00a0One is the sketch in charcoal and the other is an oil painting. \u00a0Both were given to the Historical Society, but the charcoal sketch was first reproduced by Jane Ivancovich and permission was given for us (both the SMRC and the Jesuits of Southern Arizona) to use it at any time. \u00a0So the NGD can use the sketch and credit the Jesuits Fathers of Southern Arizona.\u2028\u00a0<\/em>
